The former Under-16s coach takes the helm of Redcar Athletic Reserves.
Redcar Athletic are pleased to confirm Danny Todd has been appointed Reserve Team Manager ahead of the 2024/25 football season.
The experienced coach takes the mantle from departing boss Steve Simpkin, who will head up fellow North Riding Premier League side Kader for the coming campaign.
A highly-regarded coach, Danny has worked within the youth set-up at Redcar Athletic for a number of years, leading well-renowned summer camps, and coaching the Under-16s.
His appointment comes with the ambition of developing a greater connection between the First Team and the Reserves, with the club seeking to build an accessible pathway from the Junior Section, right through to senior football.
Keen to take on the new role, Danny admitted he was thrilled to have the chance to work closely with Carl Jarrett and the First Team, and to offer more opportunities to the youth talent throughout the club.
“It’s an exciting opportunity to work closely with the First Team.” He said. “I just couldn’t turn it down.”
“I will be in regular contact with Carl, Dave, and the First Team staff, which will help with providing a clear pathway for those who want to progress to playing at a higher level.
“There are some great young players already at the club, and locally, and I’m confident we will attract some of that talent that can help us to have a positive season.”

On the appointment of Danny Todd, Managing Director Ryan McKnight commented: “It’s great for the club that Danny has agreed to take over as Reserve Team Manager.”
“Danny is already an important part of the club, and the work he has done within the Junior programme, and also the school holiday camps, are testament to the feeling he has for the club.
“The Reserve Team has a great opportunity to be a genuine support to – and spring board into – the first team, and I would urge any local young players to register their interest in the trial session we have upcoming on the 3rd of July.”
