The experienced defender becomes the latest to don the red and navy.
Redcar Athletic are delighted to have completed the signing of Danni Lay from Bishop Auckland.
The versatile defender joins the club upon the expiration of his deal at Heritage Park, becoming Carl Jarrett’s fifth summer acquisition of 2024.
Strong, powerful, and with an eye for goal, Danni proved a vital part of Bishop Auckland’s title-winning side, clocking 16 clean sheets across 44 appearances in the Two Blues’ iconic strip last season.
Making the switch to the Bishops from arch-rivals West Auckland, the 32-year-old’s career spans across the region, from both Ryhope clubs, to Gateshead, where he clocked his first major success in the Durham Challenge Cup.
Now set to begin the next chapter of his footballing story on the Redcar seafront, Danni’s ambition knows no bounds, and his eagerness neither.
