The boss previews our final game of the season against Easington Colliery.
Carl Jarrett believes his Steelmen can go out on a high as a trip to Welfare Park brings the most successful campaign in the club’s history to a rewarding close.
Failing a 30-goal swing, Redcar Athletic will be crowned champions no matter the result. Regardless, the boss is as determined as ever to sign off with a win.
A successful first season in Division One for the Colliers, Olly Hotchkiss’s men were one of only five sides to best the Steelmen in league play.
Only one club has done a double over Redcar Athletic – that being North Shields – and Carl Jarrett is determined to keep it that way, trophy celebrations or no.
“I don’t think the lads need geeing up.” He said. “We’re going there on Saturday to pick the trophy up.”
“They shouldn’t need me to stand there and tell them how good they all are. Realistically, they all know what they’ve done, and what they’re going to achieve.
“On Saturday, they should be ready for this.
“It’s about going there and enjoying ourselves. In my eyes, we have won the league, but I still want to go there and put on a show, and I want to win the game.
“I want to put that gap between us and Shildon, and I want to finish to season off great.
“We’ll need to concentrate. We had a training session midweek and we’ve had a look at them.
“Everyone is in good spirits, which is what we want, and there’s a really good vibe around this club at the minute.”
