The boss spoke to Club Media ahead of our final pre-season adventure.
Carl Jarrett is relishing the opportunity to pick from a full squad when Redcar Athletic travel to the Towbar Express Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Northern Premier League side Whitby Town will be his side’s final opponent before the season starts next weekend, a test he believes will be one of the toughest of our pre-season campaign.
Redcar have had only the one other away day in the run up to the 2025/26 season – a sweltering afternoon in Thornaby ending in a hefty defeat.
Whitby Town sit two levels higher than the Blues, and now just one above the Steelmen, boasting a talented roster which Carl Jarrett believes will offer his side a tough test.
“We’re hopefully going to have a full squad on Saturday against Whitby.” He said.
“I’m really looking forward to the game up at their place. It’ll be a good, tough test for us. Obviously, Whitby are in the league above, so it will be good to see where we are.
“The lads are starting to get themselves fitter, and we’re getting to where we want to be heading into the season.
“Unless you’re the manager of a football club, you don’t see how frustrating pre-season can be.
“There’s that many players away, at work, on holiday. We’ve had players injured and players banned too.
“It’ll great to have a full squad this weekend, and see where we are heading into the season. I’m really looking forward to it.”
You can join the Steelmen in Whitby on our official supporters’ coach, with seats sold at just £10 for all.
