The Redcar boss looks ahead to our Tuesday night action on home soil.

Carl Jarrett says Redcar Athletic should aim to win each of their ten remaining Northern League games, the first of which this Tuesday evening against West Allotment Celtic.

The Steelmen go into the bout seven points clear at the top of the table, albeit having played a number of games more than some of the closest competitors.

As we approach the business end of the season, grinding out results is increasingly important, and Carl Jarrett is more than aware of that.

The boss was delighted to see the ten-men of Redcar Athletic scoop three points in difficult conditions at Birtley, Scott Heslop’s second half goal the first his side had conceded in almost 600 minutes.

In many ways, West Allotment Celtic will prove a similarly tough opponent, but for Carl Jarrett, an opponent that the Steelmen should be beating.

“We want to approach this game like we approach each and every game.” He said. “We go to win it. It’s as simple as that.”

“Especially at home. We’ve been fantastic at home. We’ve played some great football, created lots of chances, scored some great goals.

“It’s not an arrogance thing, but we’re sat top of the league. We should be looking to win this game.”

Two key players missing from the side on Saturday afternoon, Jarrett confirmed a few changes were possibly in the offing looking ahead to West Allotment’s Redcar visit.

The boss suggested Bryan Taylor may be back in action, but also hinted towards bouts of tiredness that may see some regular figures rested.

FIXTURES AND RESULTS

“I might make a few changes to the personnel. We’ve got a few niggles, and some tiredness.

“I might have Bryan (Taylor) back. And a couple of others. Priestley (Griffiths) is somewhere near. ‘Sparky’ should be okay, having been sent off at the weekend.

“It’s important that we take one game at a time now. We need to concentrate on ourselves, put good performances in, and try to keep clean sheets.

“That’s what we’ve got to look forward to on Tuesday. Hopefully, in front of a big crowd. That would be fantastic.”
