The boss spoke to Dave Edler ahead of the visit of Heaton Stannington.
Carl Jarrett says he expects a tough test when Heaton Stannington come to the Hollou Sports Stadium on Wednesday evening.
The Tynesiders will be the first to make the trip following Redcar’s promotion to the Pitching In Northern Premier League East, with each vying to continue a winning start to the 2025/26 season.
It was a dream welcome to the division for the Steelmen at the famous Croft Park.
Goals from Adam Boyes, Curtis Round and Bradley Fewster made for a convincing opening day win, leaving Redcar second in the table by only the alphabet.
Looking forward to Wednesday evening, Carl Jarrett admitted the challenge posed by the ‘Stan’ would be much greater than that of Blyth Spartans.
He praised the Tynesiders for their strength and physicality, but told Dave Edler he was keen to push on with a winning start to the campaign.
“It’ll be a good game.” He said.
“They’re a good side, Heaton Stannington. Dean (Nicholson) will have them all fired up. They like to get in your face.
“I think it’ll be a bigger challenge than Saturday, no disrespect to Blyth (Spartans).
“They (Heaton Stannington) know the league now, and they’ve signed some good players. They’ll be hard to break down.
“But, we’re at home. We’re looking to continue our good start to the season.
“I’ll have a couple of the lads back in the squad that were missing Saturday. I’m looking forward to it.”
