The Redcar boss offered his pre-Newcastle Benfield thoughts to Ash Stone.
Carl Jarrett says Redcar Athletic have a target on their heads ahead of the visit of Newcastle Benfield this Tuesday evening.
A positive start to the campaign, the boss argued such success offers incentives for teams to want to beat the Steelmen, but refused to concede on his expectations to ‘win every single game.’
Responding to somewhat of a setback in emphatic fashion at the weekend, for Carl Jarrett, Redcar Athletic must kick-on this week, however challenging against tough opposition in Newcastle Benfield.
Quizzed on his approach to this latest hurdle, the boss stressed that each and every game is a ‘big game,’ admitting he was surprised at the standard of the division on his return this January.
“Every game is a big game.” Carl Jarrett said.
“Honestly, I’m surprised at what I have seen in this league, the standards of what people want to do, and what they want to do to Redcar at the present minute.
“Everyone is up for a fight when they come to play us.”
Given teams’ desire to beat Redcar, Jarrett conceded his expectations wouldn’t waver, however ‘tough’ those on the opposite side of the halfway line appear to be.
“Our expectations are the same.” He said. “We’ll set up right. We try to win every single game, especially at home.”
