Finally back at the Hollou after four weeks, and things seem to only be getting better for the Steelmen

We have played just three home matches this year, with Garforth, Newton Aycliffe and Richmond being the only sides that we hosted so far in 2026

Our 3-0 win against Grimsby Borough means we are currently on a run of 9 away clean sheets in a row, equalling at the very least, 810 minutes of football.

We are also unbeaten since the Matlock game, a run of 16 matches, or 1,440 minutes.

And we are on an 8-match winning run too, scoring 28 in 8 games, an average of 3.5 goals per game.

Louis Johnson’s brace means he now has 8 in his, and our last 3 matches, meaning he is joint-17th on the Step 4 top scorer charts.

Adam Boyes is back on the top of that list too, due to his goal against Grimsby, with Brad Fewster between the two in 6th place.

In terms of league positioning, the list of teams that can no longer catch us is growing, with every side from North Ferriby in 10th to Blyth Town in 22nd, unable to catch us.

So… I guess that means we are guaranteed a top 10 finish!

Our opponents, though, haven’t been doing too great. Embedded in the relegation zone, though just 2 points off safety, Brighouse currently sit in 21st

No wins since the 8th of November, heavy defeats since then to Emley, Matlock, Ashington and in fact us, and just 10 goals scored since the 1st of November, Brighouse have really been struggling.

In the past 10 games, they have been quite heavily in the worst run of form within this league, picking up 3 points across those ten fixtures.

If you drop the parameters to 8 games, then they become only better than North Ferriby, six games lead them to only be above Grimsby Borough, and in the last 4 games, they are only better than Grimsby and Newton Aycliffe.

Just 2 players for the club have scored more than 1 goal this season, with Romario Dunne on 8 and Nathan Curtis on 6

They have also had just 9 players play more than 1000 minutes, whereas, in contrast, we have had 9 players who haven’t played 1000 minutes.

A ray of light for Brighouse, though, is that they have just 3 teams within the top 6 to face for the rest of the season, with us, Bradford Park Avenue and Pontefract on their calendar amidst a bunch of mid-table/relegation teams

As things are with these match previews now, there isn’t a vast amount to talk about that hasn’t already been covered, so I will leave it there.

If you aren’t able to make the match tomorrow, then there will be those ever-consistent live updates on our X page, but we do hope to see you at the Hollou.

As always, take care, and up the Steelmen!
