Match Report: Redcar Athletic Under-23s 8-0 Darlington Railway Athletic Under-23s
Redcar Athletic Under-23s made it three wins from four in the league with a comprehensive victory against Darlington Railway Athletic.
The open spaces of the main pitch at Green Lane worked a treat for the home side, who dominated the opening exchanges without making the most of the chances created.
Matty Bage and Ashton Dick had a number of long range efforts that didn’t trouble the Railway Athletic ‘keeper.

It was nearly 1-0 on ten minutes when Ashton Dick went on a what was to become a trademark run, but the RA keeper saved well.
It was 1-0 on 14 minutes when a cross from the left from Adil Hanif found Tyler Atkinson, who flicked the ball past the RA ‘keeper.
Tyler Atkinson nearly made it 2-0 minutes later when David Bradley and Ashton Dick combined to set the striker up, but his shot went just wide.
It was 2-0 on 37 minutes when Ashton Dick beat five men and took the ball to the byline, where he pulled it backed to the unmarked David Bradley, who couldn’t miss from 3 yards out.
It was 3-0 on the stroke of half time when an inswinging corner from Matthew Green found the head of skipper Ethan Cartwright, who headed home from inside the six yard box.

Athletic dominated the second half, creating numerous chances.
Half time substitute Ste Sullivan came agonisingly close to making it 4-0, when he timed his run to perfection to stay onside, and lifted the ball over the RA ‘keeper, striking the outside of the post.
It was 4-0 on 52 minutes when fellow half time substitute Jamie Hill played a sublime defence splitting pass to David Bradley, who finished well across the keeper.
Six minutes later, David Bradley grabbed his hat trick with another fine finish.
Substitute, and new signing, Jack Charlton grabbed Athletic’s third goal in ten minutes with a well hit shot that the ‘keeper could only get his hand to.

It was 7-0 on 63 minutes when Ashton Dick grabbed the goal that his all round play deserved, beating a number of men before finishing with his unfavored left foot.
It was eight on 76 minutes when the RA keeper’s clearance went straight to Jamie Hill, who took his time and lifted the ball over the stranded stopper.
