“The club has everything it needs to be successful.”
A proven midfielder decorated to the highest degree, Craig Gott reunited with his old boss as the Steelmen’s second addition of 2024/25.
Upon putting pen to paper, he spoke to Head of Media Ash Stone about Carl Jarrett, his desires for success, and his dreams of a fifth Northern League title.
Experienced, proven, and well decorated, Craig Gott brings more than just his midfield prowess to Carl Jarrett’s squad.
Lethal from a dead ball, and with a mentality near unrivalled, the 33-year-old was a clear target for the First Team boss, and a welcome addition for the new campaign.
Asked whether the pull of his former coach lured him to the hallowed turf of Green Lane, Craig conceded it was certainly a contributing factor.
“It’s no secret,” the midfielder admitted: “me and Carl have a good relationship.”
“We’ve won a lot of things together.
“I know exactly how he works, and he doesn’t accept anything less than winning.”
Not only was a reunion with his old boss on the cards, but a chance to play alongside a mass of exciting talent too.
Craig divulged that the ability of those amongst Carl Jarrett’s squad was there for all to see, offering his excitement at the possibilities of the coming campaign.
“Joining Redcar, seeing all the young talent, the lads I have played with previously, and the new signings, I have no question or reason to think anything other than trying to win the league.
“Lifting the Northern League title will always be special, and something I will never get sick of.
“The club has everything it needs to be successful, and I really can’t wait to get started!”
