Skinningrove based museum becomes latest local business to partner with Redcar Athletic.

Marie Woods, Museum Manager at Land of Iron, said: “When Land of Iron reopened to the public in January 2023, we decided that we wanted the museum to be relevant, outward-looking, and a valuable community asset for local people.
“We have the same aspirations as Redcar Athletic in wanting to support our communities, and so we are delighted to be working in partnership with them.
“The football club’s aim of providing opportunities for young people in their academy is something that we both feel strongly about, as well as preserving the past, Land of Iron wants to provide learning and cultural opportunities for people across our community and be a link between our proud ironstone mining legacy and a prosperous Teesside in the future.”
Redcar Athletic Managing Director, Ryan McKnight: “I am delighted that Land of Iron are partnering with the football club.
“Now more than ever, as our place enters a new phase of its existence, it is vital that we learn and understand about the effort, the values, the struggle and the successes of the past so that we fully appreciate not only the special nature of our region but are empowered to hold those making the new phase of our region’s future accountable in a meaningful way.
“Museums like Land of Iron mean much more than just knowledge of history, they are critical for tying you to an understanding of your place you call home.”
“We can’t wait to work on some interesting initiatives in the coming months together.”
