After two away games we are back at Green Lane for tomorrow night's fixture against Lancaster City, as we look for a first home win, and a second of the season

The draw to Quorn was a frustrating result, but as stated many times since then, you won’t turn down a point against anyone at this level.

Josh Mazfari registered his 100th Redcar Athletic appearance in that game, and whilst there wasn’t a clean sheet, he did make some great stops to make sure the number of goals conceded remained at 1

It does also mean that we are now one of just two teams in this league to have conceded once, with the other side holding that accolade being a Cleethorpes Town side who have looked very threatening, having beaten Bamber Bridge and Quorn, before drawing to Warrington Town on Saturday.

After tomorrow’s match against Lancaster, we then go back on the road as we travel to Warrington, and then it’s two home fixtures against Emley and United of Manchester, before the month is rounded out with a trip to Stockton.

Bosh’s goal means he has now started his tally, though I feel like we will have a bit of a wait before he hits the 41-goal marker he reached last season.

Oscar Fletcher, though, has gotten his second assist this season thanks to his cross that found Adam on Saturday.

Quorn’s solitary goal on Saturday was our first one conceded since North Ferriby’s 92nd-minute consolation on the final day of last season

Lancaster City have been around for 115 years, founded in 1911 as Lancaster Town, though they became a city in 1937 following King George VI’s coronation celebrations.

The Dollie Blues have been playing at this level for a full decade now, with the 2026-27 season being their 10th consecutive one at Step 3

Many mid-table finishes have followed, though there have also been a couple of seasons at both ends of the table, with the side evading relegation in the 24-25 season, whilst they also reached the playoffs in the 25-26 season, as well as the 2019-20 campaign too

2 defeats and a win are the results Lancaster have had so far, losing 4-1 to Ashton on the opening day, and losing 2-1 to Hyde United on Saturday, with a Tuesday night win at home to Warrington Rylands being their only source of points so far

Technically, this does mean they’re unbeaten in midweek matches since the 10th of February, when they lost to Rushall Olympic

(What that doesn’t factor in is that the match at home to Warrington Rylands was their first midweek match since the 10th of February)

2 defeats and a win is also the exact start they had last season, and they followed that up by going unbeaten until the 25th of October, winning 7 and drawing 3 before falling to a 3-2 defeat away to Warrington Town

A win for Lancaster against us could propel them into the playoffs, though it would need a lot to go in their favour

A win for us though? We could go top, though almost impossible as Cleethorpes host Alfreton, and with the two on 7 and 6 points respectively, a draw would put Cleethorpes on 8 points and an eye-watering +7 goal difference

But hey, if we beat Lancaster 10-1 then that puts us in a great spot

We did it last season…didn’t we

Anyway, that’s all from me. Enjoy your night, and see you tomorrow at Green Lane.

All the best!
