Redcar Athletic put Silsden to the sword in an utterly sensational performance at the Hollou Sports Stadium – headlined by a record haul of TEN goals.

Adam Boyes took the plaudits for half that tally. He kickstarted the rout with a first half treble, as Mark Anderson, Dane Burlace and Bradley Fewster made it six by the interval.

Oscar Fletcher was on target when play resumed. Adam Boyes found another brace, whilst Owen Burns scored on debut to rack up double figures.

In all honesty, finding the words to describe this game is challenging. As is best practice, we’ll start at the beginning.

Carl Jarrett made a number of changes to the side which lost in the cup last weekend. Chay Liddle and Bryan Taylor missed out, as did Louis Johnson.

Debutant Owen Burns came into the side alongside Bradley Fewster, who picked out Adam Boyes inside the opening three minutes to mark the perfect start.

Mark Anderson added a second in no time at all. He pulled the trigger from deep in the midfield, stunning the Redcar faithful with a bullet into the top right corner.

Dane Burlace starred in a new wing-back role, and had his first goal for the club before the ten minute mark, beating Tommy Brown at his near post.

Redcar were unrelenting, with spectacular efforts from Bradley Fewster and Mark Anderson denied before Adam Boyes struck again in much the same fashion.

Bradley Fewster got amongst the goals for number five. He was gifted a similar finish when Dane Burlace fired the ball low across the face of goal.

In a fit of frustration, Jorge Sikora saw red for the visitors in the aftermath. To compound the misery, Fewster found Boyes for strike number six on the stroke of the half.

Play resumed in much the same vein, as Oscar Fletcher poked home at the back post to keep the riot going.

He struck the post moments later, before Adam Boyes netted his fourth from close-range, taking the tally to a record-equalling eight for Carl Jarrett’s side.

Isaac Robinson stole one back for the Sils’ who countered with some speed, but even that joy was short-lived, as Owen Burns lifted the ball home to mark an impressive debut with a goal.

The tenth came but moments from the restart, an almost apologetic Adam Boyes given the run of the land in the box, and tasked only with slotting the ball home five yards out from goal.
