The midfielder puts pen to paper in a move from Northern League Boro Rangers.
Redcar Athletic are thrilled to confirm the capture of talented midfielder Owen Burns from local Northern League side, Boro Rangers.
Owen has impressed many with his performances this season, taking the mantle of Player of the Month for August at Phoenix Park for his contributions to Rangers’ lethal forward line.
He makes the switch to the Hollou Sports Stadium to bring passion, energy and intelligence to the midfield – linking up with former academy teammate, Oscar Fletcher.
On his arrival, Carl Jarrett admitted he was a player the club had targeted for some time, praising the young midfielder for his quality on the ball, and potential.
“I’m delighted to bring Owen in.” The boss said.
“He’s another local lad, and he’s impressed me in the few games he’s played for Boro Rangers this season, scoring goals.
“He’ll bring a lot of energy to us, he gets around the pitch, and he’s fantastic from box-to-box. He can score goals and he can defend.
“He’s a great footballer, and a great lad. I’m really looking forward to getting the kid in.”
Welcome to Redcar, Owen.
