The boss spoke to Club Media ahead of our pre-season headliner this Thursday.
Carl Jarrett is relishing the chance to pit his squad against a professional outfit when Middlesbrough send an eleven to the Hollou Sports Stadium on Thursday evening.
The EFL Championship side last graced the Redcar seafront four years ago. A young team ran out narrow winners on the day, captained by the late Sol Bamba.

Redcar Athletic’s pre-season preparations kicked-off in fine style at the weekend, as goals from Louis Johnson and Curtis Round made it a comfortable victory over local rivals Redcar Town.
For First Team boss Carl Jarrett, a tougher test awaits on Thursday evening in the form of a young eleven from Middlesbrough.
He told Ash Stone he was looking forward to the challenge, hoping to see his new-look side pushed to their limits to iron out any weaknesses ahead of the new campaign.
“I’m really looking forward to the game.” He said.
“It’s going to be a really good test for us as a group, especially after Saturday – getting the lads their first pre-season game against Redcar Town, and winning it.
“This will be a tougher test against what is obviously a professional club, which is brilliant for us. This is exactly what we want to do. We want to be tested as much as we can be.
“We need to have a look around and see what we can strengthen on, and obviously get good minutes in the legs again.
“I’m really looking forward to it. Hopefully we get a bumper crowd at Green Lane as well, which is great for the club this early in pre-season.”
