The popular midfielder has signed a one-year contract with the club.
Redcar Athletic are delighted to confirm fan-favourite midfielder Oscar Fletcher has penned a new deal with the football club.
Our Supporters’ Player of the Season has signed a one-year contract, extending his stay at Green Lane until May 2026.
First signed by Gary Forster in 2023, Oscar quickly rose to popularity amongst the Redcar faithful with his eye for a pass, not staking his claim as a goalscorer until his return in the summer of last year.
In 48 appearances, the midfielder racked up 20 goals and 17 assists, only bettered by Adam Boyes when compared to the squad as a whole.
His efforts were rewarded with a brace of awards, scooping both Supporters’ Player of the Season for his enthusiasm, and Young Player of the Season at our annual presentation last Friday.
An incredibly popular figure at Green Lane, news of Oscar’s retention is sure to peak the interest of many.
One man delighted to see him sign on the dotted line was Carl Jarrett, who confirmed the midfielder shirked interest from elsewhere to commit his future to the Steelmen.
He said: “Getting Oscar is great news for the club after a lot of interest from higher levels.
“The lad was excellent last season, on and off the pitch, and hopefully we get same again.”
We’re excited to be a part of your next chapter, Oscar!
