The Under23s’ boss departs after an incredible 13 year spell at the club.
Redcar Athletic would like to extend a massive thank you to Dave Marshall, who steps down as manager of our Under23s due to personal reasons.
Dave has taken charge of the team since they were but seven-years-old, aiding their growth and development for an incredible 13 years.
Beginning their journey together in 2012 as Redcar Athletic Under7s, Dave Marshall’s team scooped many a success, winning the Corus Cup and the TJFA Challenge Cup in their first six years.
Further silverware came in 2019 and 2022, as the team climbed the age ranks to form the Under23s who have competed in the Majaros Langbaurgh League over the past three seasons.
Along with Mark Hathaway, Dave was said to have had a massive hand in the upbringing of his players, including the likes of Ethan Cartwright and Cam Thomson, both of whom appeared for the First Team during the season.
As the pair step down, the team has been forced to fold, and will not compete in the Manjaros Langbaurgh League next season.
The club would like to offer a massive thank you to Dave Marshall for everything he has done for the club.
He and Mark’s efforts over the last 13 years have had a significant positive impact on the upbringing of a group of talented footballers, both on and off the pitch, and they – and the club – could not be more grateful.
Thank you too to each and every player who has represented the team, from the Under7s in 2012 to the Under23s today.
You will all always have a home here at Redcar Athletic.
