The boss hailed a three-nil victory at home to Northallerton Town.
Carl Jarrett praised Redcar’s energy in a three-goal victory over Northallerton Town at the B&D Interiors Stadium.
The result sees the Steelmen move six points clear at the top of the Northern League, albeit having played a game more than closest rivals, Shildon.
One aspect Jarrett proved particularly pleased with was Redcar’s quick start, as Curtis Round buried the opening goal with just three minutes on the clock.
Northallerton perhaps edged the first half from there on in, but a foul on Oscar Fletcher offered a cushion from the spot, and Craig Gott obliged.
Oscar Fletcher added a third goal in some style as the seconds ebbed away, a well-worked team move sealing the points, and Carl Jarrett’s appraisal.
“We started off fantastic.” He said.
“We were disappointed, even with a draw, against Boro Rangers, the way we went about our business.
“I just thought we started really well today.
We spoke about our energy levels, and we started fast. We got our goal in the first three minutes, a well worked goal, and then we just kept on going.
“We had a couple of little half chances, and then we dropped off. We let them back into the game. They were very organised, Northallerton, so credit to them.
“Obviously, the penalty before half time changed the game a bit. Great work by Oscar (Fletcher), and (Craig) Gotty slipped it away.
“We had a few words at half time. Spoke about what we wanted to do a bit better. In the second half, we just had more energy. Our movement was good and our touches were better.
“We spoke about trying to get the ball out wide and to bring it back in, instead of trying to go through the lines. It just looked so tight in there.
“I think Bry put about five or six crosses which just didn’t land for us in the box. But, we got an unbelievable third goal. The way we worked it.
“It was nice to use the full squad tonight, and to give lads minutes. It was nice seeing Kevin Burgess back on the pitch after so long out.
“But, it’s another win. We have to keep chalking them off, concentrate game by game, and that’s exactly what we’re doing.”
