Carl Jarrett praised the efforts of debutant Bryan Taylor in a comfortable derby victory over play-off chasing Guisborough Town.
The 20-year-old defender joined the Steelmen on loan from South Shields on Friday evening, putting in an incredible performance not 24 hours later to scoop the Player of the Match award.
In the thick of the action from minute one through ninety, Bryan was brought down by Dylan McAvoy – amongst many – leading to his dismissal inside the half hour.
The fullback caused problems down the left flank for whoever attempted to stop him, and proved rather impenetrable at the back himself.
Bryan’s performance caught the eye of many along the terraces, scooping the Player of the Match award, and high praise from his new boss.
“Bryan, on his first game for us, was excellent.” Jarrett said.
“He looked like he had been playing there most of the season.
“He fits in well. Obviously, he’s been taught well at South Shields Academy. He knows how to play football. He fits in with our identity really well.
“He’s done great. I can’t knock him at all. I think he’s came away with a Man of the Match award too, which is fully deserved.”
