Jarrett wills Redcar to build on Whickham success

The Redcar boss offered his thoughts on our Northern League clash with North Shields.

Carl Jarrett hailed the importance of Tuesday night’s victory over Whickham when looking ahead to another visit from North Shields.

The Robins came to the B&D Interiors Stadium just last week, scoring twice in the dying embers of an Isuzu FA Vase Third Round tie to end Redcar’s Wembley dream.

Aware of the challenge posed by an in-form North Shields, Carl Jarrett admitted it would be a ‘tough’ contest on Saturday afternoon.

He talked up the importance of stopping the rot on Tuesday evening as the Steelmen beat Whickham, willing that confidence to shine through on Saturday afternoon.

“I’m really looking forward to facing North Shields again.” He said.

“It’s going to be another tough test in the league. They’ve in good form at the present minute, but I’ve got to look at ourselves.

“We had a good victory over Whickham on Tuesday night, away from home. We put in a good performance in those conditions.

“Hopefully, that’s helped our confidence after the little blip that we’ve had, and we can get ourselves on another run.

“We went back top of the league on Tuesday night. Hopefully that will help us.

“I’m really looking forward to it, and I hope we can have a good crowd here to cheer on the lads.”
