The Redcar boss offered his thoughts on our Isuzu FA Vase Third Round tie.

This fixture will now be played on Saturday 14th December.

Carl Jarrett issued a plea for support from the town of Redcar with his Steelmen set to take on North Shields in the Isuzu FA Vase.

Redcar Athletic have never before reached the Third Round of the competition – set to conclude at Wembley Stadium in May – and this weekend face the only remaining victor in the Robins.

Perhaps the biggest game in the history of Redcar Athletic, North Shields come to the B&D Interiors Stadium with the advantage, both in current form and past results.

The Robins beat the Steelmen at the Daren Persson Stadium in September, stepping foot on the hallowed turf tomorrow afternoon on the back of six straight wins, as opposed to four defeats in five.

Fans plea for support against North Shields

Excitement builds as Redcar Athletic get ready to take on the Isuzu FA Vase Third Round.

For Carl Jarrett, the Isuzu FA Vase is a massively important competition, but also a brilliant opportunity to inject some much needed confidence back into a team with a recent lack thereof.

“I’m really looking forward to tomorrow’s game.” He said.

“The (Isuzu) FA vase is something that I’ve always looked at as a great competition. I want to get as far as we possibly can.

“Tomorrow will be no different.”

No doubt a gifted outfit, Carl Jarrett had high praise for North Shields, the only side left in the competition with a prior honour.

The boss admitted the Robins would prove tough to overcome, pleading with the town of Redcar to turn out and back the Steelmen on what could prove a momentous day for the region.

Jarrett added: “It’ll be a hard game against North Shields. We know they’ve been in the quarterfinals in the last three years, and they’ve won the competition themselves.

FIXTURES AND RESULTS

“It’s going to be difficult, but we are at home.

“This is a plea for us to try and get as many supporters in that ground as we possibly can. It will spur on the lads massively.

“Our crowd has been like a twelfth man at times this season. I’d really like to get as many supporters through the door as we can tomorrow to support the lads.”
