The popular forward has decided to call time on his Redcar career.
Redcar Athletic can confirm Layton Watts has completed a permanent deal to join Northern League compatriots, West Auckland Town.
The forward proved extremely popular in his time on the Redcar seafront, and leaves with the best wishes of all involved.
One of Redcar’s most-loved since putting pen to paper in the July of last year, Layton made 45 competitive appearances in the red and navy, impressing under both Gary Forster and Carl Jarrett.
The 22-year-old found the net nine times in his Steelmen career, his creativity an equally powerful asset with a further nine assists.
Making four appearances from the bench this season – and a further start against Crook Town – Layton has opted to call time on his stay at Green Lane, yesterday competing a permanent transfer to West Auckland Town.
Everyone at Redcar Athletic would like to thank Layton graciously for his efforts in the red and navy, and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
Go well, Layton. You’ll always be welcome here on the Redcar seafront.
