The Redcar boss offered his take on Tuesday night’s visit of the Bay.
Redcar Athletic Manager Carl Jarrett has urged restraint after a perfect start to the 2024/25 season.
The boss admitted he was thrilled with the effort from his players and staff in a fairytale opening fortnight, keen still to reign in over-excitement ahead of a difficult encounter with Whitley Bay.

Starting the season with five successive victories – ten dating back through pre-season – it would be impossible for Carl Jarrett not to be a happy man, and that he certainly is.
Whilst offloading high praise to his players for their work up to this point, the boss stressed the importance not to get carried away, tough opponents like Whitley Bay on offer each week in the Northern League.
“I’m ecstatic at the start we’ve made.” Carl Jarrett said, offering his thirst for more.
“We look at every game individually, and we want to win each and every one of them.

“We’ve had a good start, but let’s not get too carried away. We’ve got five wins from five. I’d rather have that than have some losses and draws in there.
“For me, it’s hats off to the lads, as they’re the ones that go out and do the work on the pitch.”

On the challenge that a so-far-underperforming Whitley Bay pose, Carl Jarrett admitted he expects a tough game.
The boss highlighted effective summer business from the Northumberland outfit, quick to put the Seahorses on a higher pedestal than their league standing would suggest.
He said: “Whitley Bay have recruited well again this season.”
“I’ve seen some of the signings they’ve made, and I think they will be a really tough team to beat.
“They are a Northern League team who will know everything about us. They all talk, managers, so they will come here and try to upset our play.
“We found it really hard to get the ball down and play on Saturday against Crook, and that was fair play to them.
“I think it will be exactly the same against Whitley Bay.
“We’ve just got to make sure our lads have cooled down properly from Saturday, and get bodies on that pitch.”
