Redcar Athletic and Crook Town played out a goalless stalemate on a tough surface at the famous Sir Tom Cowie Millfield Ground.

The Steelmen were left frustrated to leave County Durham with only a point, creating countless chances but failing to find the target.

Crook worked openings as the contest neared a tense end, with Josh Mazfari adept when needed in the dying embers to see out a fourth successive clean sheet.

The result sees the Steelmen’s gap at the top of the table reduced to just three points, having played a game more than Shildon in second place.

Redcar Athletic are still unbeaten since the turn of the year, and have accumulated seven points from a possible nine in such time.
