Recap

Redcar Athletic made it THIRTEEN goals in two games with a derby day demolition of closest rivals Marske United.

The Steelmen followed up an eight-goal haul on Saturday with another five under the lights, the headlines taken by Mark Anderson and a sensational hat-trick.

Bradley Fewster curled home perhaps the goal of the night as Redcar again took a three-point lead into the half, Oscar Fletcher adding to his own account with the last action of the ninety.

Much like in Saturday’s emphatic win over Carlisle City, Dave McTiernan took the reigns, opting to field an unchanged side to great success.

Marske United chose to play with the wind at their backs having won the toss, strong gusts originally to their betterment as Luke Drummond forced an early save from Josh Mazfari.

Craig Gott rattled the woodwork from the first of the Steelmen’s many opportunities, Oscar Fletcher soon frustrated when his effort off the underside of the bar was deemed not to have crossed the line.

It was a moment of magic from Fletcher which offered Mark Anderson the first of his treble.

The midfielder took it on first time from a looping through ball, leaving Oli Swan little chance in the Marske goal with a delicate lob.

A hat-trick of assists on Saturday, Adam Boyes again pulled the strings in attack.

The forward swept Bryan Taylor’s cross into the path of Mark Anderson to double the lead, soon laying on for Bradley Fewster to unleash a devastating strike into the top right corner.

Unfortunately, his efforts for a goal of his own against his former side fell in vain.

Boyes nodded Bradley Fewster’s cross rather tamely into the grasp of Swan before the half was at its end, striking his outstretched leg on a breakaway when play resumed.

Oscar Fletcher again looked for Mark Anderson, the midfielder in acres of space on the right flank, and adept with an emphatic finish into the near stanchion.

Wholesale changes soon broke up the contest, and Marske worked away with a consolation in mind.

A defensive mistake offered Ben Riddiough perhaps their greatest chance of the evening, Josh Mazfari out quick to close his angle at goal.

Luke Drummond nodded Marske’s final attempt considerably high of the mark.

Redcar’s fifth came with quite literally the last action of the ninety. Priestley Griffiths took aim from deep in the midfield, his effort beating Oli Swan thanks to a wicked deflection off the chest of Oscar Fletcher.
