Match Report

This was a totally different performance from the Boro team of 4 years ago as this young side totally outclassed Redcar Athletic. In the 8th minute impressive French winger Billal Brahimi squared the ball right across from the right wing to the left 30 yards from goal, which was met with a rocket of a shot from left back PATRICK READING that flew into the far right hand corner of Redcar Athletic's net. It was 2-0 on 13 minutes when after a great run down the right by Billal Brahimi, he crossed into the penalty area and TYRONE O'NEILL chested it down before firing it inside the left hand post. Just 2 minutes later Boro's Kieran Storey crossed from the right wing into the Redcar Athletic penalty area where it was met on the volley 10 yards out by Stephen Walker but keeper Jordan Lowrie pulled off a fantastic save to flick the ball over the bar. In the 27th minute Patrick Reading came within a whisker when his goalbound shot deflected off defender Stuart Browne onto the right hand post and out for a corner. From the corner kick Connor Malley's header brought out another fine save from keeper Jordan Lowrie. But it was quite clear that another goal was likely to come before half time and on 32 minutes Tyrone O'Neill on the left played the ball on through to STEPHEN WALKER, who cut across the right of the penalty area before firing into the top right hand corner of the net.  Just a minute later Stephen Walker was denied a quick 2nd goal when his low hard drive from the edge of the area was turned round the right hand post at full stretch by keeper Jordan Lowrie.  In the 35th minute Tyrone O'Neill saw his effort saved by Jordan Lowrie who managed to parry it to safety. But a rampant Boro side found the back of the net to take a well earned 4-0 lead into the break when in the 38th minute and despite being ushered out wide by keeper Jordan Lowrie, striker STEPHEN WALKER curled the ball into the far left hand side of the goal from an acute angle.

Redcar Athletic managed to contain Boro for the first 15 minutes of the 2nd half but bang on the hour mark Liam Cooke ran right through the centre before feeding in STEPHEN WALKER, who slotted it under the body of oncoming keeper Jordan Lowrie into the net. It was 6-0 just another 2 minutes later when Billal Brahimi sped away down the left before squaring the ball to his right on the edge of the penalty and TYRONE O'NEILL easily shook off 2 poor challenges before burying his shot into the right hand side of the net. In the 77th minute keeper Jordan Lowrie pulled off another great save from a Connor Malley shot but was a mere  standing spectator just 60 seconds later when BILLAL BRAHIMI, took a step to his right before pinging a 20 yard firebolt across him into the top right hand corner of the net. to round off the scoring on the night in spectacular fashion.
